This is one of the author’s most popular plays. The setting is a fictional Irish seaside town and it tells of the arrival of the De La Mare Repertory Company and the hilarious effect their visit has on the naïve townsfolk.

    HELP REQUIRED!

I am looking for anyone who can provide assistance with backstage work on the summer show - I will require one or two people for each night to help backstage on scene changes and ensuring props are where they should be! The performance dates are as follows:

    1/2 August - Ballyearl
    20-23 August - Portrush
    11-13 September - Barts

I will also need the usual bodies to assist with the moving of the set when we get to that stage!

We are rehearsing on Tuesdays and Thursdays as usual, so if anyone is able to get involved please come along or send me an email.

    Thanks,

    Emma

PS Congratulations to the "Big House" team on their success in Armagh!

On a personal note, I don't know about the rest of you but I am absolutely chuffed about the whole thing and proud to be part of a team which produced their absolute best at just the right moment.

In addition I want to add my gratitude to the Technical boys who sometimes get overshadowed by the 'Oscar' winners.

    Brilliant !

    Letter from June (Chair)

To all Bart Players and Bart Players Patrons

Gillian and the cast and crew of 'The Big House' are to be congratulated for the fantastic results achieved from the C.D.L. Festival. The details are as follows:

Best Play - The Big House
    Best Producer Gillian Porter
    Best Actress Lynne Taylor
    Best Supporting Actress Barbara Jeffers
    Best Supporting Actor Ed Flannigan
    The Decor Award
    Stage Design Award

This play has had marvellous results throughout so well done all concerned.

If I have left anything or anyone out on the above list perhaps someone could correct it.

As you are all aware the play is now through to the AUDF Finals in Armagh. We are appearing on May 16th.

Gillian intends calling a dress rehearsal on Tues. 13th May. She would like this to be with an audience in the hall. It will be played down on the floor at the back of the hall with the set but may not necessarily have the full compliment of sound and lighting effects.

However, it will be great for the cast if as many people as possible could turn up to watch and encourage the team. It is also an opportunity to come along if you missed any of the performances.

Also perhaps someone who knows exactly where the venue is in Armagh could send out directions on how to get there (preferably in one piece and before the performance starts).

Once again - well done to Gillian and the whole team.

    June (Chairman)
